What can I do to my car....?
I have a 2000 Crown Victoria PI. I want to modify it so it can be on par with my friends 2007 WRX. He has an intake, straight pipes, turbo, the whole she-bang. It's fast. My cruiser is pretty balzy for a big sedan but I want to know what I can do, on a relatively tight budget, to unleash what potential it might have. Can I put a turbo in it? Supercharger? Intake/exhaust? Suspension? (It kinda feels like driving a boat compared to my friends cars) Any input would be great.
and yes you can definitely put a supercharger and a turbocharger (or both if you're feeling really adventurous)
the 4.6 that you have in it is basically the same engine that came in V-8 mustangs so there are TONS of aftermarket parts
and yes you can beef up the suspension as well, along with tires/wheels and such
HOWEVER- its still a crown vic.... its still the same size as a small ocean liner.
it will NEVER compete with the wrx unless its specific straight line acceleration and you drained the oil out of the subie....

Finding the Cheapest Auto Insurance
Finding the cheapest cars to insure takes a lot of work and research. There are a number of factors to consider when selecting a cheaper insured car. Insurance companies take a number of things into consideration when coming up with an insurance cost. Their exact formulas are not known to the general public, but it is easy to see some of the factors that cause insurances prices to fluctuate. The cost of insurance will be determined partly by your driving record, age and sex, but the car you drive will be a large contributing factor and the only one you can control. The type of vehicle and the value of the vehicle are important things to consider. Statistically, there are several cars that are cheaper to insure.
According to car retailers, these cars cost the least to insure:
-Chrysler PT Cruiser 4dr Wagon
-GMC Safari SLE AWD 3dr Minivan
-Dodge Caravan SE 4dr Minivan
-Saturn ION 1 4dr Sedan
-Pontiac Sunfire 2dr Coupe
As shown by this list, two door cars and very large cars are usually more expensive to insure. Small cars are usually more expensive to insure because of the fact that in an accident, they will sustain more damage to the vehicle and the passengers which causes the insurance companies to pay more money in damages. Large cars will cause more damage to other vehicles and possibly be more expensive to fix. Therefore, choosing a midsize car will offer you a cheaper insurance price.
The price paid for a car also influences insurance price. If the insurance company thinks that your car will be targeted by thieves, because of its expense, they are going to charge more just in case this happens. Select a car that is mid priced and not too flashy. This is also good because the cars that are considered "family" cars, and even the ones that are considered to have "power", have lower insurance costs as well. Take into consideration that the list also includes 2 minivans, a wagon, and a mid sized sedan. Plus, lower priced cars are less expensive to fix when they are damaged, so insurance companies charge less.
In general, it seems, that selecting a midsized car with 4 doors and average engine power will allow you to find the cheapest insurance prices. The trend seems to be, that in order to find the cheapest car to insure, you should avoid the big, the small, and the expensive.
